Are YOU an experienced Nair burn victim?

I've heard that when you use Nair, you can never be exempt from their trademark side effects of irritated skin, and burning during application. I just bought some Nair [Shower Power] and think I can take some burning, but am not sure whether the irritated skin will stay until the hair starts growing back. So my question is, does it? Is it worth using, if not? I REALLY need a way to get rid of my 'bikini' hair, and I've tried home-waxing [horrible, damn you, Sally Hensen], and cannot afford professional waxing, and will save shaving as a last resort [for fear of razor bumps]. PLEASE GIVE ME ANSWERS, EXPERIENCED ONES!
