How dangerous is it if there is a baby and the dog doesn't go out to do his "business", he does it in the home?

My grandson isn't but 5 weeks old but when he starts crawling my concern is he will ingest the feces or urine and how will it affect him. What can be done? The dog just will not do his "business" outside. Nobody knows why.
